Sr. Does are those that have had their second or higher freshening. At this age, they should already be appraised through ADGA's Linear Appraisal process, as well as well established in DHIR and other Performance Programs through ADGA.
Sr. Does=Does that have freshened for the second or higher interval.
First Fresheners= These does were previously "Yearlings" and have had their first freshening, or "kidded" for the first time.
Luna was our first yearling to kid after a long break from breeding. She was not bottle raised, so we were a bit weary of what we’d be up against in training her to the milk stand. To our surprise, she calmed down rather quickly and did fantastic!
Luna is a joy to milk thanks to great teats that are positioned well. She averaged just under a gallon a day for her first year on DHIR. Not bad for having just started back up. She has just been bred to Saronno, so we are eager to see the improvements in udder placement and flatness of rump that Saron should bring to the table.

When our girls reach one year old, we hope that they will have kidded. We definitely want to see them kid by the time they are two years old. This is for optimal milk production through their lifetime, as well as giving us the opportunity to improve upon genetics of their offspring.

Elizabeth is one of our biggest and widest girls in the herd. She is bred for December kids and is developing nicely. We anticipate width, depth, and length in abundance when it comes to her kids.

Stella is out of one of our favorite does, Bella. Bella was an Elite doe in 2011, easily earning her milk star and her Superior Genetics as a one-year old! She was an exceptional producer with great conformation. To top it off, she was one of our most illness- and parasite-resistent does in the herd. So far, it looks like Stella is following nicely in her footsteps. We are anxiously awaiting Stella's stellar first freshening in December of 2019.

When Latte Da Red Hot Janie went into labor, she made quick work of tiny #1 and tiny #2 with a back to back "nose and toes" (normal) presentation. After several pushes later and not much results, it was time for some human intervention.
Two front legs...a mouth...and...another front leg! Little Janie had TWO MORE kids in there?! Astounding!!! A bit of pushback on those three legs and a pull forward on the head revealed who was the instigator of this bottleneck.
Sunshine was eager to enter this world, as she tried to come out with her brother, "Bo!" But, alas, she had to wait until after her brother entered this world before she could make her grand entrance with a 'nose and one toe' presentation.
As the 4th quadruplet for Janie's 2018 kidding, Sunshine weighed in as the 3rd largest of these cuties, at 4.5 pounds. I truly don't know where Janie was hiding all those kids! Mama and quads are doing fantastic!!!

When Joan and her twin sister, Autumn, were born, they had us seeing double. These two girls are nearly identical in coloring, conformation, and personality. I was determined to only keep one of these girls. I had some friends help me evaluate each and we all agreed that Autumn was the winner, hands down. I still like Joan a lot, too, so I put a high enough price on her that I'd be pleased if she sold, but not sad if she didn't. When it was time for these two to go up against one another in the show ring, we all were anxious to see what the judges thought and predicting for Autumn to come out on top. Well, were we shocked when Joan repeatedly beat Autumn in EVERY ring! Joan even won a couple of first in class while Autumn was bringing up the rear. What?!?!
Well, thank goodness for judges' insight, we still have both of these girls and will have them up against each other again soon to see how they've maturity has affected their outcome. Both Autumn and Joan are bred for December babies. We are pins and needles to see the body capacity these kids will have!!!
